Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has mourned political commentator Prof Ngugi Njoroge as a “profusely humorous, warm, and charming” individual.

In a message posted on X, Gachagua said he learnt with deep sadness the passing on of his long-time friend.

“He was a prolific political commentator whose insightful discussions on development discourse of our nation with his razor-edge oratory skills on Inooro FM’s Keera Show and other platforms,” the DP said.

Gachagua added that he had the privilege of being hosted by Njoroge on his informative show.

“We enjoyed quality discussions, as was his characteristic. Indeed, he redefined the role of the media in driving development. His nuggets of wisdom will be immensely missed,” he said.

The DP passed his heartfelt condolences to Njoroge's family, colleagues at the Royal Media Services and Inooro TV, friends and relatives for the loss.

Njoroge, a veteran radio presenter and political commentator, passed away on Monday morning.

He hosted a late-night show named 'Keera' at Inooro FM, a station under the umbrella of Royal Media Services.

According to reports from his colleagues at the station and the media fraternity, the professor passed on at his home before dawn.
