Kenya Kwanza women representatives are moving across the country to rally women to engage their children to listen to President William Ruto.

The move aims to soften the hard stances that Gen Z has held in their push for reforms in the government.

The leaders on Monday visited Marsabit led by Deputy Majority Whip Naomi Waqo and Deputy Speaker Gladys Boss.

They emphasised the importance of a peaceful nation saying the lack of it affects mainly women and children.

The leaders urged the Gen Zs to stop the demonstrations and agree to the calls to form a government of national unity where their issues will be addressed.

Shollei called on Kenyans to the President a chance and support to develop the country.

"Ruto has a good plan for Kenyans, let us support him to continue with his work," she said.

They expressed confidence that Ruto has an ear for the youth and women of the country and that he means well for this nation.

Kenyans across the country led by Gen Z took to the streets to demand accountability and good governance from the government.

The protests put Ruto under pressure leading to droping of the Finance Bill 2024 which had sparked the street protests.

However, the move did not alter the Gen Zs and instead, they came up with more demands for the President to fulfil.

On June 26, the President announced new austerity measures to cut government spending.

Ruto also dissolved his previous cabinet and is in the process of reconstituting a new one which he said is broad-based.

The President has so far nominated 2o individuals to head respective dockets in his government.

Among those nominated are four members allied to opposition leader Raila Odinga.

He named Hassan Joho for the Ministry of Mining, Blue Economy, Wycliffe Oparanya for Cooperatives and MSME Development, John Mbadi for the Ministry of National Treasury and Opiyo Wandayi has been nominated to head the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum.

The move has since elicited a mix of reactions from leaders and Kenyans alike.

Ruto defended the establishment of the broad-based government saying the country needed to have a fresh start.
