A group of activists under Operation Linda Jamii are expected to lead a peaceful procession to the State House, Nairobi and all State Lodges to present petitions.

SRC nominees

Senators will today consider a report by the Standing Committee of Finance and Budget seeking to approve two Senate nominees on behalf of the county governments as members of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).

They are Lynette Washiali Muganda and Mohamed Aden Abdi.

If approved, the nominees will be forwarded to the President for subsequent appointment.

Social Health Insurance rules

Senators are expected to resume the debate on a motion seeking to adopt a report from the select committee on delegated legislation on the social health insurance (general) regulations and the social health insurance (Tribunal procedure) rules.

Gatusso case

Former Harambee Stars player Collins Okoth Ougo alias Gatusso will today be arraigned in court to answer charges related to the alleged murder of a minor.

He will appear before Justice Alexander Muteti in a Milimani High court.

Gatusso and his co-accused Sylvia Aoko Odhiambo are alleged to have murdered a three-year-old girl namely Pamela Atieno alias Scovian Maya in Lucky Summer Estate in Nairobi. 

Last week, the court directed that the two suspects be presented today to take a plea after they undergoing a mental assessment. 

Okoth was held at Industrial Area Remand Prison while his co-accused was at Lang'ata Women's Prison.

Machakos CEC case

A case in which former Machakos CEC Urbanus Wambua Musyoka is charged with Sh600 million of unexplained wealth comes up for mention today.

The case will be before Justice Esther Maina. 

In this case, EACC filed a forfeiture suit against him.
