Outspoken Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba has said that Mt Kenya will rally behind Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

She spoke in Githunguri during the burial of kin to Kiambu Senator Karungo Thang'wa.

Gachagua is also attending the funeral alongside some of his allies from the Mt Kenya region.

Wamuchomba said that Mt Kenya leaders should borrow a leaf from Rift Valley leaders who respect their leaders and unite behind them.

"We know those people who walk around abusing Rigathi Gachagua and former president Uhuru Kenyatta and we will not allow that character," Wamuchomba said.

She said that it's high time for the Mt Kenya leaders to unite and rally behind Gachagua.

The MP said that the move to call DP Gachagua a villager won't deter him from uniting the people of the Mt Kenya region.

"Let them call you a villager but we will support you," Wamuchomba said.

Embakasi North MP James Gakuya said that Kenyans should unite and preach unity .

He said that unity is the only act that will move the country forward.

He rallied DP Gachagua to help coffee farmers get their cherry funds as well as fight for the plight of milk farmers.
