A woman was at the weekend arrested after she allegedly killed her husband in a suspected domestic fight in Kasarani, Nairobi.

A caretaker of an apartment reported that the man's body was lying in his house after the Saturday incident.

It emerged the couple had quarrelled and fought before the man was stabbed in the chest.

According to police, the woman used a kitchen knife to stab the man killing him on the spot.

Police were called to the scene and arrested the woman.

The couple lived in one of the rooms in the apartment.

The woman was later arrested and explained she was defending herself from assault from the man.

Police said they visited the scene and recovered the weapon.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.

Meanwhile, police are investigating an incident in which a Grade 8 pupil died by suicide in Makongeni, Thika Town.

The body of the girl aged 14 was found hanging with a scarf tied around the neck on the roof rafters on Sunday morning.

She was a pupil at a school in the area.

The motive of the incident is yet to be established, police said.

The body was picked up at the mortuary pending autopsy and other procedures.

In Kilifi, a security guard at a plantation died by suicide.

The body of Hussein Kisidi Ali, 44 was found hanging on a tree.

Police said a sisal rope was tied around his neck at the time the body was discovered on Sunday.

No suicide note was recovered at the scene and the motive is yet to be known, police said.

The body was removed to Kilifi County Hospital Morgue for preservation and postmortem examination.
