AG announces open day in bid to boost public engagement and service delivery

The Office of the Attorney General is hosting an Open Day on August 31 at the Sheria House parking area as part of its ongoing commitment to improving service delivery.

The event will offer the public a unique opportunity to engage directly with staff from various departments within the State Law Office.

Attendees can learn more about the office’s transformative initiatives and gain insights into the services provided.

Representatives from various departments and organizations will be present to address queries, provide information, and assist with any concerns, a statement issued reads.

They include Public Trustee, Civil Litigation, Kenya Law Reform, International Law, National Council for Law Reporting, Assets Recovery and Kenya School of Law.

Others are Marriages and Societies, Council for Legal Education, Business Registration Services, Auctioneers Licensing Board, Witness Protection Agency and National Legal Aid Service.

Officials from Legislative Drafting, Legal Advisory and Research, Government Transactions, National Anti-Corruption Campaign Steering Committee, Coat of Arms and Department of Justice will also be present.

The public has been encouraged to attend to gain valuable insights into the services we provide.

They can also submit queries in advance on https://bit.ly/Agopendayform to allow the staff to prepare responses and provide detailed information on specific issues.

Specific issues on clients, it says, will be addressed as well as giving insights on the work of the various departments as staff will be on hand to assist.

A day after assuming office, Attorney General Dorcas Oduor pledged to ensure all relevant public information at the State law office is digitised within the next two weeks.

Oduor said she had lined up a series of transformative initiatives aimed at modernising the department.

Key among her announcements was the digitisation of the Probate and Administration Department.

“We have already begun digitising our records,” Oduor said.

“In two weeks’, time, all records will be archived digitally, making them easily accessible to all Kenyans," she added.

Following this, Oduor noted that her next focus will be on digitising marriage records to streamline public access.

Solicitor General Shadrack Mose, among other senior officials, was present during the brief ceremony at the State Law office.
