Ruto unveiled the Nairobi River Commission in February last year. Pamela Olet chairs it.

The event, which is set for 10 am, will be held at Korogocho-Kariobangi/Lucky summer area.

Hillside Academy fire incident

The autopsy for the 21 bodies of Hillside Academy pupils is set to be conducted today.

Government pathologist Johansen Oduor will lead the exercise to be held at the Naromoru hospital in Nyeri.

This follows the conclusion of the process of collecting DNA samples from the families who lost their loved ones, which experts from the government chemist and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) forensics team spearheaded.

Central head of DCI Abraham Mugambi said the goal is to match the bodies, which were badly burnt beyond recognition, to their loved ones.

US Embassy to address Mpox outbreak

The US Embassy will on Thursday from 2 pm hold a press briefing on the current mpox outbreak with experts from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), US Agency for International Development (USAID), and Walter Reed Army Institute of Research-Africa (WRAIR-Africa).

The briefing will provide the latest updates on US government support to Kenya’s mpox response from surveillance to diagnostics followed by a question-and-answer session.

Launch of Isiolo High Court

CJ Martha Koome will on Thursday preside ‎over the ‎launch of the Isiolo High Court and an Alternative Justice Systems (AJS) Centre as well as a ‎Court Annexed Mediation (CAM) Centre, at Isiolo.

Paul Mackenzie case 

The hearing of the case in which pastor Paul Mackenzie is charged with manslaughter continues today.

The 11th witness will today take to the stand to testify against Mackenzie and his 94 co-accused persons.

The case being heard by Mombasa chief magistrate Ale Ithuku resumed this week with three protected witnesses, mainly minors testifying.

Gatuso murder case

Ex-Harambee Stars and Gor Mahia football player Collins Okoth Ougo alias Gatuso will today take a plea in a murder charge at the High Court in Nairobi.

He was arraigned before Justice Esther Maina on Wednesday alongside his co-accused, Sylvia Aoko but the plea-taking was deferred because his mental assessment report had not been filed in court.
