Acting Inspector General of Police Gilbert Masengeli concluded his three-day security tour of the North Eastern counties on Thursday.
The visit was aimed at assessing the security situation of the region.
Discussions focused on finding lasting solutions to the war against terrorism, human trafficking, drug trafficking, smuggling of contraband goods and inter-clan conflicts within the region.
During the tour, Masengeli held engagements with security officers, the regional security and intelligence committee, National Government Administration Officers (NGAO), elected leaders and community elders.
Masengeli visited several operational police camps namely Mandera Police Station, Border Point 1, Guba, Duse, Kotulo Mandera, Kotulo Wajir, Qarsa Diff, Fafi, Welmerer, Raya, solar plant and Garissa.
