Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has said that his ministry will give Sh3 million to equip the newly built Kihara Police station in Kiambaa Constituency.

Speaking during the official opening on Monday, Kindiki said Sh2 million will be used to equip the station with furniture.

The remaining Sh1 million will be used to buy computers for the police station built by the Kiambaa Constituency Development Fund.

"Kawanjiku come to my office tomorrow morning and collect the money," Kindiki said.

The Interior CS said he had toured the facility and it is in a very good state, including children, women and men cells.

Kindiki noted that the police form a very important part of society.

He said they protect the country from criminals and those who plan to harm others.

"Police are important because they protect the 99 per cent of law-abiding citizens from harm by one per cent of criminals and lawbreakers," Kindiki said.

He further thanked area MP John Kawanjiku and the CDF board for ensuring police in Kihara have a decent place of work.

He added that the facility lives up to the cost of its construction.

He was also accompanied by Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wah, among others.
