Nairobi Water unveils new shortcode to enhance customer service

Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NWSC) has rolled out an enhanced shortcode in an effort to boost service delivery.

The enhanced Self Care USSD Code *260# will allow customers to register or de-register for e-bills.

It will also allow customers to update their contacts, query and pay bills, apply for water and sewer services and check their application status.

NCWSC Managing Director Nahashon Muguna while announcing the code stated that it was an important milestone in enhancing the customer experience.

“This marks a significant step in ensuring seamless access to our services,” Muguna said.

Further, the company has a toll-free line 0800724366 which will ensure customers can reach the call centre at no cost.

“These advancements have been adopted and implemented reflecting the company’s commitment to leveraging on technology for better customer service and processes,” Muguna added.

NWSC is mandated with providing and managing water and sewerage services in Nairobi.

As the mandated water and sewerage service provider in Nairobi City County, NCWSC seeks to enhance service provision by aligning itself to the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and National Water Master Plan 2030 developed in 2013 by the Government of Kenya.

It also undertakes key multi-sectoral initiatives and projects to ensure sustainable availability and management of water and sanitation for all in line with the Kenyan economic blueprint, Vision 2030 under MTP III; Nairobi Integrated Urban Development Masterplan (NIUPLAN); the County’s Strategic Plan (2015-2025); Nairobi County Integrated Development Plan for (2018-2022); and Agenda 2030, the Sustainable Development Goals under Agenda Six.
