Production of a documentary offering a comprehensive exploration of the illustrious career and life of Lady Justice Joyce Aluoch is underway.

Aluoch was the first woman to serve as Vice-President of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands.

She has played a pivotal role in shaping the Kenyan judiciary and championing human rights and justice globally.

"Existence Beyond Measure" will provide an insight into the journey of Aluoch, reflecting on her ground-breaking career that spans decades.

Production of the documentary is a partnership between RFH Healthcare and Aluoch.

Speaking during the signing of the partnership, Aluoch expressed hopes that the documentary will not only honour her work but also inspire future generation leaders.

"This partnership will foster transformation in the society,” she said.

RFH Healthcare managing director Maxwell Okoth expressed enthusiasm with the production saying the work of Aluoch has a lasting impact on justice and human rights, locally and internationally.

"We are honoured to be part of this project celebrating such an esteemed figure in our nation's history. As an institution committed to advancing the well-being of our communities, we are proud to support this documentary,” he said.

Okoth added that RFH Healthcare is looking forward to contributing to the success of the documentary, helping bring the story to a wider audience both in Kenya and abroad.

Prior to joining the ICC, Aluoch was a Judge of the High Court of Kenya for over 20 years and was elevated to the Court of Appeals in December 2008.

As a former vice-chairperson of the Judicial Curriculum Review Committee, she has extensive experience in the training of judges, magistrates and paralegals, a programme she undertook in conjunction with the International Association of Women Judges.

She chaired the African Union Committee of Experts on the Rights of the Child (2001-2005).

She has undertaken special missions, such as negotiations on behalf of the African Union with the Government of Sudan and a fact-finding mission to war-torn northern Uganda to report on the effects of the war on children.

Aluoch also served for six years as vice-chair and member of the UN Committee on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (2003-2008).
