Two brothers, who were among three individuals abducted in Kitengela last month, have shared their story just hours after being found.

The announcement of their recovery was made by Faith Odhiambo, President of the Law Society of Kenya.

According to the LSK boss, Jamil Longton, 42, and Aslam Longton, 36, were found in Gachie, Kiambu County, early Friday morning.

In a video shared by Faith Odhiambo on X, the brothers spoke about their harrowing ordeal.

"I thank Kenyans and the people who stood by us. We were released early morning around Gachie in a bush. We walked until we found an estate where we asked to charge our phones, and then we were able to communicate with our family. We thank God, and we will discuss more through the president of the LSK," Jamil said.

Aslam echoed his brother’s sentiments, adding, "I thank Kenyans for standing with us. We were released early morning and thrown into a bush. That’s how we are here today."

The brothers, who had been missing since August 19, 2024, were reunited with their family after a month of uncertainty.

The abductions triggered legal action from the LSK, which filed a case demanding the police produce the three men.

The two brothers had been abducted alongside Free Kenya Movement coordinator Bob Njagi by unidentified men.

Reports from witnesses indicated that the brothers were taken just meters from their home in Kitengela, with the captors driving a white Subaru.

"The driver stepped out of the car and had handcuffs on his waist," a boda boda rider who witnessed the incident shared.

"He checked them out before getting back into the car."

Njagi, on the other hand, was reportedly snatched from a bus in Mlolongo, adding to the mystery of the coordinated kidnappings.

The police have yet to make any arrests, and details surrounding the abduction remain unclear.

Kanja, the newly-appointed police chief, addressed the issue, stating,

“You are aware that I have just taken over the office but what I have gotten from our officers is that we don’t have the Kitengela three with us. I know a report was made and we have got an active investigation,” he said.

Similarly, the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Amin, confirmed, "We don’t support any form of abduction, and for now, we don’t have the three."
