President William Ruto’s daughter, Charlene Ruto, has warned social media users against spreading fake information about her appointment for a government job.

Charlene said that she has never wanted any government appointment or position, but she has been charting her path.

This comes after an excerpt of a gazette notice has been making rounds on social media claiming that Charlene has been appointed to be the chairperson of the National Mining Corporation.

The notice claimed that Charlene was appointed in that position to serve for three years, effective October 4, 2024.

In a statement on X, Charlene asked Kenyans to treat the information as fake news, cautioning those who are keen on spreading it.

Charlene said that the President believes in fair and transparent leadership opportunities and would not appoint her to the mining docket.

“Guys...c'mon...seriously?? Tuwache fake news! And looks like whoever is pushing this doesn't know President William Ruto. He believes in giving equal, fair and transparent leadership opportunities to as many Kenyans as possible, so trust me, this he would not do. Na mining tena? Not even youth? Or agriculture? Just so that you know it is fake! Wacha niendeleze @typn_i na @smachs_org,” she said.

“I didn't wait for anyone to give me an appointment or position, I am creating my own path, plus my name is Chelagat, not Chelangat Don't support this propaganda!”

Charlene is passionate about the young people, championing their agenda under my strategic plan of ‘The 30 Things‘.

She is the founder and patron of the Smart Mechanized Agriculture and Climate Action for Humanity and Sustainability (SMACHs) Foundation, a youth-led non-profit organization that empowers young people to lead the fight against hunger and climate change in Kenya.

Charlene Ruto leads initiatives to equip young individuals with skills for smart, mechanized agriculture. The foundation addresses unemployment challenges among the youth by promoting sustainable and innovative agricultural practices.

In January, Charlene was appointed Kenya's Blood Ambassador for her efforts to mobilise resources that support blood donation initiatives.
