Infotrak: Why Kenyans feel that country is headed in right direction

The poll showed that seven percent reasoned that the country's direction was a result of their candidate being in power.

One in every 10 Kenyans has said that the country is headed in the right direction, representing 11 per cent of the population.

This is according to the Infotrak poll released on Friday.

Among the top reasons why they think that the country is headed in the right direction in October 2024, are a well-performing government (31 per cent), affordable cost of living (27 per cent) and improved education (22 per cent).

The poll shows that 14 per cent stated their reason as a stabilising economy with 11 per cent saying that the improvement of the healthcare sector.

Further, nine per cent said the country is headed in the right direction because it has good infrastructure, while eight per cent stated their reason for peace in the country.

The poll showed that seven per cent reasoned that the country's direction was a result of their candidate being in power.

Only six per cent said devolution has made a difference and that the country is actively fighting corruption.

In September, 44 per cent of the Kenyans who thought the country was headed in the right direction, owed it to the government to dig well.

The survey was conducted on October 9, 2024. 1,000 Kenyans were interviewed, from across the 47 counties.

The poll was done through Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews (CATI), with a margin of error was ±3.099 per cent at 95 per cent degree of confidence.

The survey covered all the 8 regions of Kenya. To ensure national representativeness, the distribution of the survey sample across the regions was proportionately allocated.
