He encouraged leaders and delegates alike to collaborate and support one another during this crucial phase of party reorganisation.

The meeting brought together leaders and representatives from across the county as part of preparations for the upcoming grassroots elections, scheduled for next month.

The forthcoming grassroots elections are seen as pivotal for ODM as it seeks to solidify its local support base ahead of future national and county political engagements.

Leaders present at the meeting echoed the Deputy Party Leader’s call for unity and strong leadership, emphasizing the importance of maintaining stability within the party.

They include ODM National Chairperson and Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, Kilifi Governor Gideon Mung’aro, Kilifi Woman Representative Gertrude Mbeyu, and Kwale Woman Representative Fatuma Masito.

Former Women Rep Zuleikha Hassan, ODM Kwale Chairman Hassan Mwanyoha and several Members of County Assembly (MCAs) from Kwale, Mombasa, and Homa Bay counties were also present.

The leaders further expressed their support for a transparent and inclusive election process.

They highlighted the significance of building strong grassroots leadership structures that would reflect the party’s commitment to the people.

This comes a few days after the ODM party’s top leadership met in Mombasa to ratify the decisions made by the party's Central Management Committee.

Some of these decisions include the appointment of Kisumu Governor Peter Anyang Nyong’o as the acting party leader, as Raila Odinga campaigns to become the next African Union Commission chairperson.

They also adopted the appointments of Nassir, Governor Simba Arati, and Senator Godfrey Osotsi as deputy party leaders.
