Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has sent his best wishes to the 2024 candidates sitting their national examination.
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams started on Tuesday while the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) exams will start on Monday next week.
A total of 965,501 candidates are writing the KCSE exams across 10,565 centres and 1,303, 913 candidates will sit KPSEA in 35, 573 centres.
This brings total candidature for the 2024 national exams to 2,279,414 candidates countriwide.
In a statement on X, Babu sent the candidates best wishes and prayed for their success.
“To the 965, 000 students who are sitting the KCSE exams, success. You will definitely make it,” Babu Owino said.
The legislator has in the past taken to social media to take candidates through revision ahead of national examinations.
He conducted the tutorial lessons tThrough his Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts, attracting huge viewership that saw some candidates attribute their success in the exams to the sessions.
Babu started the initiate during the Covid-19 pandemic by offering free Mathematics classes to Form 4 and Standard 8
candidates.
The legislator picked notable topics that were mostly examined in national exams.
In 2020, Owino was recognised by the United Nations and the Voice of America for his online classes.

Babu has a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Nairobi. He attained first-class honors in the discipline in 2012.
He later enrolled in UoN for a Law degree and graduated with second-class honors, upper division in 2020.
Earlier, President William Ruto extended his best wishes to the candidates sitting the national KPSEA and KCSE exams.
In his message to Form 4 candidates, the President expressed confidence that the four years of dedication would yield successful results.
President Ruto assured the candidates that the government has implemented extensive security measures to guarantee the smooth administration of the exams.
He affirmed that the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Interior have coordinated efforts to provide invigilators, supervisors and security personnel at all exam centres.
Mama Rachel Ruto also wished all candidates across the country success even as she emphasised the importance of perseverance and resilience.
In her message, she urged the candidates to trust in their efforts and embrace the process as part of their growth
“May your hard work and dedication lead you to the success you deserve,” said the first lady.
