Mzalendo Trust to launch report on National Endowment Fund for Democracy

Mzalendo Trust will today launch a report on the National Endowment Fund for Democracy (NED) at Pullman Hotel, Upperhill from 8:30 am to 1 pm.

Mzalendo is a Kenyan non-partisan Parliamentary Monitoring Organisation (PMO) started in 2005 and whose mission is to ‘promote open, inclusive, and accountable Parliaments in Kenya and Africa.’

In line with the Organisation’s Strategic Plan 2021-2025, Mzalendo anchors its work on three main pillars: Openness, Inclusion and Accountability.

As part of its mandate and to promote legislative openness and participation, Mzalendo commissioned a study to evaluate the oversight functions of county assemblies, and the progress made over the last decade.

The study report, undertaken with the support of the National Endowment Fund for Democracy (NED), entailed a review of the structures, processes, and practices aimed at facilitating oversight of the county executive by the county assembly.

Today (Thursday), Mzalendo will be launching the report.
