President William Ruto has handed ex-Starehe MP Charles Njagua commonly referred to as Jaguar, a new role in government.

Njagua has been nominated to fill one of the two vacant positions of a member at the Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ). Also nominated is Dorothy Jemator Kimengech.

Njagua had initially been appointed as the Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in the Ministry of Youth Affairs, the Arts and Sports. A sequence of court battles, however, delayed the planned ascension to the role by Njagua and other appointees to other ministries.

CAJ is charged with tackling maladministration (improper administration) in the public sector. It is empowered to, among other things, investigate complaints of delay, abuse of power, unfair treatment, or manifest injustice or discourtesy. Its current chair is Florence Kajuju.
