The report to be discussed will be released on Thursday.

The State of Human Rights Report 2023/24 will cover a period of 18 months from July 2023 to November 2024.

LSK to address the media on matters of public interest

The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) is set to address the media on the state of the rule of law, vaccine injuries and continuous abductions.

The event will be held at the LSK Secretariat at noon.

Court to hear case on Gachagua’s employees sent on compulsory leave

The Labour Court will today hear a case in which employees of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua are challenging being sent on compulsory leave.

The case was filed by City Lawyer Lempaa Suiyanka suing the government over the decision to send the 108 workers on compulsory leave.

Lempaa and the African Centre for Peace and Human Rights said the decision has no legal justification and amounts to victimization.

Most of those affected were employees whose terms of service are tied to that of the Deputy President’s like his advisors, senior staff and private secretaries.

Case against companies accused of supplying fake fertiliser

The hearing of the case against companies accused of supplying fake fertilizer to farmers will proceed today at the anti-corruption court.

In the case, top officials of the National Cereals and Produce Board were charged with Sh209 million fake fertiliser scandal.

Josiah Kariuki, the director of Fifty-One Capital Limited and SBL Innovate Manufacturers Limited are among those charged.

Others are Joseph Muna Kamote, John Kiplangat and John Mbaya.

They have denied charges ranging from conspiracy to defraud and abuse of office before trial magistrate Celesa Okore.
