Kenya Police Football Club has initiated plans with their official sponsor, Betika Group, for a possible expansion.
The meeting brought together several key figures like Interior Principal Secretary, Raymond Omollo and Betika Group Chief Executive Officer Mutua Mutava.
Kenya Police FC noted that the new deal had been instrumental to its operations and had played a crucial role in their team competing at the zenith of Kenyan football.
Their partnership discussions are, though, destined to move past the men's senior team.
Both parties consider the opening of opportunities for both the women's team and the youth team as ways to develop the club even further.
The move aligns with the rules set by the FKF Premier League regarding club financing and FIFA regulations, which encourage the growth of women’s and youth football across the globe.
Omollo, who serves as the patron of Kenya Police FC, acknowledged the importance of expanding the club’s involvement in these areas, noting that developing both ladies' and youth football is a key component of growing the sport in Kenya.
Also present at the meeting was the Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja, who is the vice patron of Kenya Police FC.
His presence showed the continued support of the national police in the growth of football within the country.
The participation of both Omollo and Kanja underlines the Ministry of Interior's commitment to sports as a significant aspect of community development and engagement.
This potential growth in women's and youth football can impact the sport very strongly.
With continued support from Betika, the club is seeking to give opportunities for young talents to blossom in developing female players in football to help boost the sport throughout the nation.
As the discussions continue, both Kenya Police FC and Betika Group are confident in the future of their collaboration and what it holds for the future of Kenyan football.
