President William Ruto has appointed Gerald Nyaoma as the Central Bank of Kenya deputy governor.
The President announced the changes on Friday.
Ruto made the appointments to the senior ranks of the Executive including roles at the Central Bank of Kenya, the Executive Office of the President, and other key positions within the top governance organs of the state corporations and agencies.
“The appointments within the Executive Office of the President seek to augment the complement of personnel supporting the Head of State and Government in fulfilling the profound mandate vested in the nation's foremost office,” the letter read.
Ruto said that the appointments have been made based on the recommendations of the Public Service Commission and in line with the laws governing each public office.
Nyaoma, who is a career central banker with an impressive 36 years of experience currently, serves as Director of the Bank Supervision Department at CBK.
Known for his dedication to safeguarding Kenya's financial stability, Nyaoma has played critical roles within the institution over the years.
His extensive resume includes leadership positions as Director of Financial Markets Development, Director of Banking Services, and Senior Manager of the National Payment Services Division.
Ruto further made appointments to the Executive Office of the President.
He has appointed Adams Oloo as the Advisor of Strategy and Communication in the President's Council of Economic Advisors
Silvester Okumu Kasuku is the Advisor of Governance, while Maj. (Rtd) Ali Mahat Somane is the Advisor of security Affairs, Office of the National Security Advisor.
Ruto further appointed Joe Owaka Ager as his Secretary of Governance.
The President appointed former Murang'a Governor Mwangi-wa-Iria the chairperson of the Public Procurement Regulatory Board.
He further named politician Peter Kenneth the chairperson of the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) National Standards Council.
The President appointed Bruno Obodha as managing director of the East African Portland Cement Company PLC (EAPCC).
