Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on Monday inspected ongoing
works at the Kenya Leather Industrial Park (KLIP) in Kenanie, Machakos County.
During the visit, he also assessed the outstanding
deliverables to ensure compliance with the presidential directive for
completion by March 31, 2025.
"While four warehouses—two for factories for turning hides
and skins into leather and the other two for factories for manufacturing finished
leather products—are complete, electricity and water reticulation, as well as the deployment of permanent policing services, are being expedited to meet the
deadline," Kindiki said.
He was accompanied by Acting Agriculture and Livestock CS Aden Duale and Principal Secretary for Livestock Development Jonathan Mueke, among other top state officials.
