Tuesday made an inspection tour of Shimoni Fish Port which is under
construction in Kwale.
Kindiki assessed the progress of
ongoing works, even as he called for the timely completion of the port for
commissioning.

“The 2.6 billion Kenya shillings Shimoni Fish Port, expected to be complete by March 2025 encompasses the construction of a modern jetty, fish landing site, a warehouse to host a fish processing plant, a cold storage and ice making plant, a fish meat plant and other support amenities,” he said.

The DP was accompanied by Mining,
Maritime Affairs and the Blue Economy Cabinet Secretary Ali Hassan Joho,
Principal Secretary for Fisheries and the Blue Economy Betsy Njagi, and the
Kenya Ports Authority Managing Director Captain William Ruto.
