The three new Cabinet Secretaries appointees are set to be sworn into their positions today at the State House.
William Kabogo will take position at the Ministry of Information, Communication and Digital Economy while former Health CS Mutahi Kagwe will be at the Agriculture and Livestock Development docket
Lee Kinyanjui will be the CS for Investments, Trade and Industry.
Their swearing-in ceremony, scheduled for 10 am, follows the approval of their appointments by the National Assembly.
This is after vetting and recommendation by the Appointments Committee, chaired by Speaker Moses Wetang'ula.
The three will replace Margret Nyambura, Andrew Karanja and Salim Mvurya.
Mvury was re-assigned to the Ministry of Sports while Karanja was approved as the Ambassador to Brazil.
Nyambura declined an appointment to serve as Kenya’s Ambassador to Ghana.
Nyanza International Investment Conference
The Nyanza International Investment Conference will hold a media briefing at Serena Hotel, Nairobi at 9 am.
NIIC organising committee chairman Japh Olende said the inaugural NIIC, that seeks to promote economic growth and development for the Nyanza region, is scheduled for February 6 to 8, 2025, at the Ciala Resort in Kisumu County.
He said President William Ruto will preside over the opening ceremony as the Chief Guest.
The conference, themed “Nyanza Rising - Towards Economic Transformation for Socio-Economic Growth and Development”, seeks to address the urgent need for the Nyanza Region and its people to trigger growth and development.
Olende said it will bring together all actors and provide an opportunity for the region’s leaders, professionals and international, national and local stakeholders, to showcase the region’s economic endowment and investment-ready opportunities to potential local and foreign investors
The conference has been organised by the Nyanza Professionals’ Forum (NPF), a body comprising professionals from Nyanza region and the Diaspora that support the regional development of Nyanza through sustainable investments across various sectors.
Kanja and Amin expected in court over Mlolongo 3 missing case
IG Douglas Kanja and DCI Mohamed Amin risk being penalized if they fail to appear in court today over the alleged disappearance of three men who went missing in Mlolongo, Machakos County December 2024.
Last week, Justice Chacha Mwita ordered them to release the men and also appear in court today over the same.
He also said the court will not shy away from imposing sanctions against Kanja and Amin if they fail to do as directed.
