President William Ruto has gazetted the appointment of new Cabinet Secretaries, Ambassadors and independent office Commissioners following vetting and approval by the National Assembly.
Ruto made the appointments via a gazette notice dated January 16, a day after the approval of three Cs nominees to join his Cabinet.
“I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appoint Mutahi Kagwe, Lee Maiyani Kinyanjui, William Kabogo Gitau, to be Cabinet Secretaries of the Government of the Republic of Kenya,” it reads in part.
The three will serve as Cabinet Secretaries for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Investments, Trade and Industry and Information, Communication, and the Digital Economy, respectively.
The three are expected to take their oaths of office at State House, Nairobi at 10 am.
Others gazetted are Ambassador Nominees, Andrew Karanja and Ababu Namwamba who will be Kenya’s representatives in Brasilia, Brazil and the UNEP office, in Nairobi.
Noor Gabow was also gazetted by the President as the Consul-General of the Republic of Kenya in Haiti.
He previously served as Deputy Inspector General in charge of the Administration Police and at one point acted as the Inspector General as former IG Hillary Mutyambai proceeded on sick leave.
Ruto also gazetted Sammy Chepkwony as Chairperson of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission, for a term of six (6) years.
He will serve alongside Jane Gatakaa Njage, Maj. Gen. (Rtd.) Martin Kizito Ong’oyi, Mohammed Aden Abdi, Geoffrey Apollo Omondi, Gilda Odera, Leonid Ashindu, as members of the SRC.
They were vetted last week and earlier this week.
