A fire has been reported at Moi Girls High School in Kibera, Nairobi.
Preliminary reports indicated that the fire broke out in one of the buildings at the institution Monday evening.
The cause of the fire was not immediately established but the reports indicated that fire engines were on sight to put out the flames.
According to an eyewitness and the police there was a fire incident at the school, but it was contained by three fire engines that were spotted at the scene.
Police further said all students had been evacuated.
The incident comes barely two weeks after schools reopened for the 2025 academic calendar on January 6.
A dormitory fire at the same school in September 2017 killed ten girls.
Investigations indicated that the fire was started deliberately.
