Police probe murder of farm worker during robbery in Ololua, Ngong

The worker stayed alone where he took care of chicken and sheep at a private farm.

Police are investigating an incident in which a farm worker was found dead in his room in Ololua, Ngong.

The worker stayed alone where he took care of chicken and sheep at a private farm.

It is suspected he was killed by unknown assailants who stole an unknown number of chicken and other valuables on Friday morning.

Police said the body of John Dangiri was found with a head injury in the house long after he had died.

Neighbours reported they had not seen him for the better part of the day and that the animals in the compound had not been fed.

Another neighbor said he had not seen Dangiri pick up food for the animals as he does.

It was later established unknown assailants raided the home and stole solar panels with security cameras.

They also stole 19 chicken from the compound after they had hacked Dangiri in the head and left him dead in his room.

Police arrived at the scene and picked up the body to the local mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.

According to police, a known suspect is on the run and efforts to trace him for grilling are ongoing.

In Kayole area, Nairobi, 42-year-old Simon Mbuthia Mwangi succumbed to his injuries after he had been attacked by unknown people while walking home.

Mwangi did not spend the night at home on January 18 which raised concern from his wife who said she later found a group gathered on the roadside.

She later realised it was her husband who had an injury on the head after he had been attacked by unknown people during a robbery.

He was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to the injuries, police said.

The hunt for the assailants is ongoing, police said.

Elsewhere in Kikopey, Gilgil, the body of one Francis Wanyoike was found in a bush after a suspected murder.

The body had physical injuries in the face and chest and the scene seemed the primary one, police said.

The body was picked up and taken to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations. Police said they are yet to establish the motive of the murder and those behind the same.
