Martha Karua has invited former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to join her new People's Liberation Party (PLP).

Karua's Narc Kenya Party has rebranded to PLP as part of the preparation for the 2027 general election.

Karua appealed when Gachagua visited her in Kirinyaga on Saturday, swirling speculations about their 2027 pact.

"I have been the leader of Narc Kenya but we have rebranded and we are launching our brand next month and the name is the People's Liberation Party,(PLP),'' Karua said on Saturday.

"Don't think that registered yesterday, we applied in May last year but I know the process is just becoming complete."

The PLP party leader asked Gachagua to consider teaming up with her in the new party that will be unveiled in February.

"I know and I have heard my brother will also likely be launching his party but I am inviting you all, PLP is a bigger house and if you feel like you want to join, come so that we walk together,"' Karua said.

Karua made the remarks at a time when Gachagua hinted at launching his party next month as part of his elaborate 2027 plans.

The former DP's allies have confirmed that plans to unveil the political vehicle are complete as Gachagua seeks to affirm his influence in national politics.

He also wants to consolidate his Mt Kenya heartland which has become furiously restive since his removal from office.

Last week, Former Laikipia Woman Representative Catherine Waruguru said the party to be unveiled next month has blue as one of its corporate colours.

"We are ready and the party will be unveiled next month,'' Waruguru said.

Embakasi North MP James Gakuya also confirmed that plans are almost complete to unveil Gachagua's political vehicle ''in the next few weeks''.

"The People's Deputy President will soon, in the next weeks launch the party that will shake the country's political landscape,'' Gakuya told the Star a week ago.
