Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has said that critics of the Kenya Kwanza administration should be fair to President William Ruto.

According to Kindiki, all the promises Ruto made during campaigns will be fulfilled.

He insisted that Ruto was given five years to deliver on his promises and therefore cannot be assessed in just two years.

The DP said that is very unfair to the President.

“I want to ask our critics, be fair to President William Ruto. All the things he promised will be achieved. Just give him time. He has a five-year term. You can’t assess his performance for a five-year term in two years. That's unfair,” Kindiki said.

He, however, noted that together with Ruto, they do not mind the criticism because it reminds them that they have work to do for the people of Kenya.

“Those questions will come at the right time, but we also don’t mind you reminding us what we said because you are helping us achieve our targets.”

The Deputy President reiterated the government’s commitment to fulfill all promises they made to the people of Kenya, saying that they will account for each day they have been in office when the time comes.

Kindiki exuded confidence that, in the end, the Kenya Kwanza administration will outperform the expectations of many.

“I just wonder what these characters will say once we deliver... we will account for each day in office. The other day, I saw some characters appearing perplexed when sugarcane farmers in Mumias were given bonuses," Kindiki said.

"They wondered where the money came from and even speculated that the money was coming from the exchequer. And I can assure you we will confound our opponents. We will outperform ourselves.”

Kindiki spoke during a consultative meeting with elected leaders, professionals, economic sector stakeholders, and grassroots leaders from Samburu County on priority development projects and tracking the implementation of government programmes.

In the meeting held at the DP official residence in Karen, he urged the participants to have their livestock vaccinate through the ongoing national vaccination drive.

He said this way, the livestock will be able to produce better-quality products in accordance with international standards, which will make them good for export.

“Because you the people of Samburu County depend on livestock keeping, I want to encourage you to have your animals vaccinated. This is the only way we can get better value for our meat and milk products and leather products,” Kindiki said.
