Several leaders have shared a message of condolences to the family of Senate Speaker Amason Kingi following the passing on of his father Mzee Kingi Mwaruwa.
Kingi announced his father’s death on Sunday night.
Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang'ula in his heartfelt condolence message asked the family to take refuge in the enduring legacy left by Mzee Kingi, being a life full of love, wisdom and unwavering dedication to family and community.
He at the same time recalled a special moment shared by both the Speaker and his father in 2024.
“I was deeply moved by your recollection of that beautiful Christmas Day in 2024 when you and Mzee danced together until sunset,” Wetang'ula said.
“That moment, now a treasured memory, speaks volumes about the bond you shared—a bond that, even in sorrow, remains unbreakable.”
“As your brother and colleague, I stand with you during this challenging time. On behalf of the Parliamentary Service Commission, the National Assembly, and myself, I extend my deepest and most sincere condolences. May God grant you and your family strength, and may Mzee Kingi rest in eternal peace.”
Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir extended his condolences to the Kingi family and the people of Kilifi at large.
He described Mzee Kingi as a respected patriarch, a beacon of wisdom and a pillar of strength in his community.
“His legacy of humility, guidance and unwavering commitment to his family and society will forever be remembered,” he said.
Nassir said Mzee Kingi’s death is not just a loss to his loved ones but to the entire coastal region, which he served with dignity and honor.
“During this difficult time, we stand in solidarity with the Kingi family and the people of Kilifi, offering our prayers and support. May you find comfort in the cherished memories of Mzee Kingi and in the knowledge that his impact will endure for generations,” he said.
“May the Almighty grant him eternal rest and give you all the strength to bear this great loss.”
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen said:
“Our thoughts and prayers are with you, my brother, your family and the people of Kilifi, during this difficult time of mourning.”
“Indeed, we belong to God, and indeed, to Him we return.”
Kilifi Governor Gideon Mung’aro said they will miss Mzee Kingi even as he prayed for the family to get strength at this difficult moment.
“May you find the strength you need during this challenging time. Remember, you are not alone in this,” he said.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family, relatives, and friends as we navigate through this difficult period. May his soul rest in peace.”
