Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on Monday took on his predecessor Rigathi Gachagua and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka saying it's time they lay bare what they achieved for the period they served as the country's second in command.
Kindiki said it is paramount for the two leaders to give their scorecards as they have all had a chance to serve the country.
He said when the time comes, they should all be judged by their legacies.
“I have seen people talk with a lot of pride. Time for politics will come. I want you people to ask me after two years to tell you what agenda I have pushed for the people of Kiambu and those competing with us be told to say what they pushed for the people. Everyone has had a chance,” Kindiki said.
He spoke Monday at his official Karen residence during a meeting with at least 2,700 grassroots, political, religious, and economic sector leaders and professionals from the 12 Constituencies of Kiambu County.
Kindiki asked Kalonzo to tell Kenyans what he achieved during his tenure as vice president saying he served under a president who was an amiable gentleman.
The DP went on to ask critics to endeavour to oppose the government on facts and shun abuses.
"Kalonzo was Vice President to a very good president for five years. He was the vice President of President Mwai Kibaki, a gentleman, self-assured and never insecure. Let him show us what he did. Let's compete with work not insults," he said.
Kindiki has been meeting leaders from various counties to track the progress made in fulfilling the charters Kenya Kwanza signed with all 47 counties ahead of the 2022 general elections.
