Azimio MPs staged a walkout after Wetangula declared Kenya Kwanza Majority side in the National Assembly on Wednesday.
Led by Suna East MP Junet Mohamed, the lawmakers said they don't agree with the Speaker's verdict. They would later address the media.
"We are here to inform you that the Speaker has made a ruling on the issue about the majority and minority leadership in the House," Junet said.
"As you are aware, the court ruled that Kenya kwanza is not the majority party in Parliament, but it is only in Kenya where the majority or minority party is decided by defections, so when you defect from one party to another, you add numbers to the other party and without consulting the people who elected you."

Junet further alleged that there have been some contradictions in the Speaker's ruling.
"He had earlier ruled that the 14 members in other parties he had given them to Kenya Kwanza; today he has turned around, saying they are not in any party as if they are in purgatory. This shows you how numbers are being crafted just to make sure a certain group is the majority party," he said.
"The other day he made a ruling that Jubilee is not part of Azimio; today he has confirmed that Jubilee is part of Azimio."
Finally, Junet said the Speaker's decision today on the House leadership will be challenged in court.

The Speaker said that Azimio has 154 Members of Parliament while Kenya Kwanza has 165 in the August House.
"Arising from the foregoing, the Kenya Kwanza is the majority and the Azimio is the minority. The leadership of the House remains unchanged," the Speaker stated.
