The event was presided over by Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication and the Digital Economy William Kabogo.

In his remarks, Kabogo vowed to lead the digital transformation in government by introducing paperless correspondences.

The DPP came second from a category of six nominees following a rigorous selection process by a team of judges from the public and private sector.

Also recognised were Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) for the Tax Amnesty Chapa Reset Anza Upya campaign, Kenya Reinsurance Corporation for cyber security online training for Kenya Re staff and the State Department for Immigration and Citizen Services for the smart immigration hub.

The DTPS Awards recognize public sector organizations that have consistently leveraged technology to improve their effectiveness, efficiency, transparency, and service delivery to citizens.

The first edition was held in 2024.

The award comes barely a year after the DPP was elected president of the Africa Prosecutors Association (APA) in Morocco, and two months after he was bestowed with the Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS) award by President William Ruto.

Present at the event were Principal Secretaries John Tonui (ICT and Digital Economy), John Mutahi (Economic Planning) Salome Wanjiru (Correctional Services) and Evelyn Cheluget, the Director General of Immigration and Citizen Services.
