It has been a week filled with the aches and loss that come with these incidents.
As police rush to solve the already reported cases, they get piled with more murders and suicides.
These are the cases that happened in the last week of January:
Man, lover attempt murder and death by suicide
A 30-year-old man and his 20-year-old girlfriend were admitted to the Kiambu Level Five Hospital after an attempted murder and suicide incident.
The boyfriend is suspected to have tried to kill the girlfriend before he also attempted suicide.
Outgoing Kiambu police commander Michael Muchiri said the woman was rushed to the hospital with multiple stab wounds in the neck and hands.
Officials rushed back to the house where they found the man in the house near St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kiambu.
Police said they found a pool of blood in the rented house and battery sulphuric acid spilled on the floor.
A bloodstained knife and a plastic container of battery acid suspected to have been consumed by the suspect were found on the floor.
The man was found on the bed unconscious and rushed to the hospital too.
Man hacked to death in Kayole
A 28-year-old man died after he was hacked in a fight in the Soweto area, Kayole, Nairobi.
Edward Wafula was pronounced dead on arrival at the Mama Lucy Hospital on Sunday morning after the incident in the Duka Moja area.
The motive of the attack is yet to be established, police said adding they had arrested two suspects over the same.
The attackers are said to be known to the deceased, police said.
A hunt for two more suspects is ongoing.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and further investigations.
Body of missing child found in a pit-latrine in Nakuru
The body of a four-year-old boy who was missing was found in a sack and dumped in a pit latrine in the Rongai area, Nakuru County.
Police revealed the boy’s mother is a person of interest in the murder.
According to police, she had been missing from her home in the Olrongai Kichwa area after the Thursday, January 23 night incident.
Police said woman went missing with the four-year-old boy from the home before the body was discovered in the family pit latrine a day later.
Police revealed that her elder son aged six was found unconscious in the house after he had swallowed several tablets
The elder son told police his mother gave him the tablets to swallow before he went to sleep.
The motive was not immediately established.
It was then that the woman left with the younger son and it is not clear what happened later on.
A neighbour told police the woman asked for a sack from him to help her carry a luggage she had.
