President William Ruto on Saturday attended the funeral service of late Baringo Senator William Cheptumo.
He was accompanied by Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula among other leaders.
The service was held at Arap Moi Secondary School grounds in Bartabwa, Baringo County
"My colleague and friend Senator William Cheptumo was a gentleman, a focused politician and a passionate leader," Ruto said.
The President stated that Cheptumo was resourceful and progressive with robust development credentials.
"His powerful voice faithfully spoke for the voiceless, furthering peace and stability in Baringo and the Kerio Valley," Ruto said.
"Sadly, Mheshimiwa’s death brings to an end an extraordinary life, and a glowing political career - marking a lasting chapter in the transformation story of Kenya."
