President William Ruto received by his host at the Jesus Winner Church in Roysambu, Nairobi on March 2, 2025/PCS
Ruto said Sunday that he made calls to both Governor Johnson Sakaja and the KPLC management and warned them against their action.
Speaking during a church service at Jesus Winner Ministry, Roysambu, Ruto thanked the governor for apologising over the dumping of waste at KPLC's offices at Stima Plaza offices.
The incident was in retaliation over the move by the utility firm to cut power to city hall over an alleged pending electricity bill.
"I want to thank our governor. Recently, they made a mistake. I gave him a call and those others, I called them and told them listen, you must end this behavior," he stated.
Acknowledging that this was a mistake, Ruto said "This governor apologised. It takes a strong, courageous leader to say I am sorry. Governor, congratulations for apologising."
The Head of State said Nairobi should be the face of progress and development in the country emphasising the need for unity and collaboration between the county and other stakeholders to ensure the city's continued growth and prosperity.
He also urged all leaders to focus on serving the people and creating a conducive environment for investments. Sakaja was present during the event.
Several other elected leaders from Nairobi were also in attendance.
