National Police Service hosts luncheon for exiting comissioners at KICC

The National Police Service on Thursday hosted a luncheon to bid farewell to outgoing  National Police Service Commission (NPSC) commissioners.

Present during the luncheon were officers from the Administration Police Service (APS) led by Deputy Inspector General of Administration Police Service (DIG-APS), Gilbert Masengeli and the Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja.

The former commissioners led by Eliud Kinuthia exited office after the expiry of their six-year term.

The outgoing chairperson Kinuthia emphasised its outstanding achievements of the outgoing commission in various areas such as promotions, remuneration, recruitment, welfare, and policy development.

“These accomplishments have significantly benefited both uniformed and non-uniformed officers within the commission, showcasing a commitment to enhancing the overall well-being of the personnel,” he said.

Kinuthia noted that the resilience of the commissioners was the driving force behind the landmarks they could attain.

Under the leadership of the outgoing commissioners, qualities like collaboration and mutual respect were upheld for common objectives.

While speaking at the farewell luncheon, Masengeli in his moving message emphasised the importance of virtues like patience as a weapon and laughter as a healing tonic.

Masengeli said that even though every new day brings forth new expectations, the true essence lies in embracing the experiences garnered throughout the journey.

“As the commission bids adieu, it leaves behind a legacy of a robust, united, and proficient National Police Service, poised to uphold the values of integrity and service excellence."
