KPLC lists areas in four counties to face power cuts Wednesday

The utility firm said the interruption will be effected between 8 am to 5pm

Kenya Power has listed areas within Siaya, Nyeri, Tharaka Nithi and Mombasa counties that are earmarked for scheduled power interruptions on Wednesday.

The company said in a public notice on Tuesday evening that the outage is aimed at facilitating system maintenance of its grid in the targeted areas.

The utility firm said the interruption will be effected between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

SIAYA

Areas to be affected by the temporary power outage in Siaya lie within the Boro and Nyadorera areas.

They include  Mwer Sec, Nyandheho, Mahero, Dibuoro Sec, Nyadorera Mkt & adjacent customers.

Power will be switched back on at 5 pm in the mentioned areas.

NYERI

In Nyeri, areas to be affected are within Kamwenja and Mtahari Hospital.

They include Mathari Hosp, Kamwenja Teachers College, KBC Nyeri Hills, Ihururu, Njoguini, Karunaini, Nyarugumu, Kihuyo, Juakali, Ngoru, Miagayuini, Kimathi Sec, Muhoya Sec, and adjacent customers.

Power will be cut at 8 am and switched back on at 5 pm in the mentioned areas.
THARAKA NITHI

In Tharaka Nithi, areas to be affected are within the Kambandi Market and Njaina.

They include Kambandi Mkt, Kambandi Disp, Weru Mkt, Weru Poly, Mukuthuku Pri Sch, Iruku Pri Sch, Chiku, Rukundi, County Girls, Gathigiririni Pri, Ntuntuni, Njaina Pri Sch, Mutunguruni & adjacent customers.

Power will be cut at 8:30 am and switched back on at 5:30 pm in the mentioned areas.

MOMBASA

In Mombasa, areas to be affected are within Jomvu, Utange and Fisheries

The areas to be affected in Jomvu include Icolo, Black Devil, Devki, Shreeji, Total Petrol Stn, Excel, Romollas, Chai Traders, and adjacent customers.
While in Fisheries and Utange,areas they include Fisheries, Mwembeni, Palestina, Utanga Barawa, Huduma Centre, Seven Star, Nimrod Tabu, Utange Pri, Joho Girls Elizabeth, Part of Bombo Village, and adjacent customers.

Power will be cut at  9 a.m. and switched back on at 5 p.m. in the mentioned areas.

Kenya Power performs planned and unplanned interruptions for various reasons, including network maintenance, upgrades, connecting new customers, and addressing faults or emergencies.

Network maintenance and upgrades are usually scheduled outages to allow Kenya Power engineers to perform essential maintenance and upgrades on the power grid to enhance reliability and efficiency.
