
King Willem–Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands
are set to begin their state visit in the country today.
The royals, who are in the country on an invitation by President William Ruto, will stay until Thursday.
They are accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Caspar Veldkamp, Reinette Klever (Foreign Trade) and Ruben Brekelmans (Defence).
Ruto was in the Netherlands in May 2023.
Kenya and the Netherlands have maintained close ties for more than 60 years.
Kenya Pipeline to evict squatters occupying Pipeline Wayleave land at Embakasi
The Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) will carry out the first eviction exercise of squatters occupying pipeline wayleave land at Emabakasi where TAJ Mall formerly stood.
KPC is working in collaboration with the National Government Administrative Office (NGAO), Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) and Kenya Railways Corporation.
The evictions are being carried out in a bid to safeguard communities living along the pipeline from potential hazards associated with the volatile petroleum products transported through the pipeline.
Energy Committee to hold a meeting with KPLC MD and Sakaja
The Standing Committee on Energy will hold a meeting between Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja and Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) Managing Director Joseph Siror at 11 am.
