My record speaks for itself, Muturi
Muturi was dismissed from his Cabinet position a few days ago.
“There could never have been a better president at this time other than President William Ruto.”
In Summary
Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura has told off former Public Service CS Justin Muturi over remarks that President William Ruto is unfit to lead the country.
Speaking on Nation FM, Mwaura said that it was unfair for Muturi to make such remarks just because he was fired from the Cabinet.
He went on to say that Ruto is a president who is keen on fixing the many challenges the country is facing and is very deliberate in doing his job.
The government spokesperson said some of these decisions are unpopular but will, in the long run, serve the best interests of Kenya.
“For the former Cabinet Secretary to say that I think it’s unfair, he is only saying this after he is no longer in government. I have seen a president who is very keen on fixing the nation, deliberate on having serious decisions to be made around the economy that may be very unpopular, which are going to serve the nation right in the long run,” Mwaura said.
He added that while what Muturi said was his opinion, Kenya could not have a better President than William Ruto.
He said that his ability to balance politics and governance is unmatched, given the situation the country was in when he took charge.
“There could never have been a better person who is able to juggle between politics and governance and leadership at this time other than President William Ruto.”
Mwaura explained that Ruto is also on course to deliver the promises he made to the people of Kenya during his campaigns.
“I have worked with President William Ruto since 2006 when he was Minister for Agriculture and if there is a robust process that was ever engaged in making a manifesto which I was part of, he was at the front and centre of it. Very deliberate actions, thinking went into it. We are implementing exactly what we promised with a limited resource.”
