Kindiki: Only God has final say on who leads Kenya

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has said that only God has the final say on who becomes the leader of Kenya.

Speaking in Kiambaa, Kiambu county, the Deputy President said people should not be threatened by those claiming to have the final say on who becomes president.

“Leadership is from God. Don’t be threatened by those saying they have the final say on leadership. It is God who has it,” he said.

Kindiki reiterated the Kenya Kwanza administration’s commitment to develop the country and ensure equitable distribution of resources.

He noted that so far, the administration under the leadership of President William Ruto has transformed the economy and that a lot of work was still going on.

The DP said this is because Kenya Kwanza knows what it promised during campaigns and it remains very intentional to deliver on it.

He added that by 2027 when voters will have the chance to gauge Kenya Kwanza’s performance, he is confident that they will not fail.

“Our main agenda is to ensure Kenya develops. The government will ensure equitable development across the country. The government will serve everyone. The economy is growing but we are still working on it as we anticipate to be examined in 2027.

“We know what we are expected to do and I want to commit we will do what we have promised to do. We will not fail the exam in 2027 because we are not preparing to fail, we will pass because we believe in God and we respect the people,” Kindiki stated.

He explained that the roads in Kiambu county and across the country that stalled as a result of Covid-19 are currently being revived, among other projects.

“The President has stabilised the economy and now the dairy, tea, coffee sectors are flourishing. Dairy farmers are earning more, they are receiving minimum of Sh50 per litre. Coffee farmers are also earning more. It is above Sh100 per kg of cherry for most factories and others are paying as high as Sh147 per kilo of cherry.”

The DP was accompanied by other leaders including National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah, Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot, and Uasin Gishu County Governor Jonathan Bii.

MPs; John Njuguna Kawanjiku (Kiambaa), Ann Muratha (Woman Representative, Kiambu), Alice Ng'ang'a (Thika Town), Machua Waithaka (Kiambu Town), GG Kagombe (Gatundu South), Elijah Njoroge Kururia (Gatundu North), Jane Kagiri (Woman Representative, Laikipia), Oscar Sudi (Kapseret), Reuben Kiborek (Mogotio), Sabina Chege (Nominated) and other leaders were present.
