Detectives from Kasarani have
arrested two men accused of orchestrating an online con by posing as female
masseuses offering professional services.
According to the Directorate of
Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspects lured unsuspecting clients through
online advertisements, promising relaxing massage experiences.
However, instead of a soothing
session, victims were ambushed and robbed.
“In one case, a victim, perhaps
expecting scented oils and soft spa music, was met with a far less relaxing
surprise,” the DCI reported.
The victim told police he responded
to the ad and visited a supposed spa residence along Lumumba Drive, Kasarani.
However, shortly after the session
began, the two suspects allegedly drew knives and held him at knifepoint.
Under duress, the man was forced to
transfer Sh280,000 to the suspects and was robbed of additional valuables
before being thrown out.
Following the report, detectives
launched investigations and, through forensic leads, traced and arrested the
suspects at a chilling spot near Kamiti Prison.
The two are currently in custody and are undergoing processing, pending arraignment in court.
