Four people were killed in two separate road accidents reported in Nairobi on Thursday.
Police said the first accident was reported along the Eastern Bypass opposite JD resort.
According to police, the accident involved a lorry being driven by an unknown driver from Utawala towards Ruiru general direction.
Police say the driver lost control and veered off the road to the left side, hitting a billboard and overturning with both the driver and the turn boy getting stuck inside the cabin. They succumbed to injuries.
A pile of timber stacked on the roadside hit and damaged three motor vehicles during the incident.
Police officers visited and processed the scene.
The bodies were removed to the City morgue awaiting postmortem while the vehicles were detained at the station yard pending inspection.
In Athi River, a head-on collision incident happened along Mombasa - Nairobi Highway near Primarosa area.
According to the police report, a truck hit another vehicle making it lose control, veer off the road to the right side and collide head-on with a motor vehicle driven by an unknown driver.
As a result, both drivers of the vehicles sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot during the 8:40 pm accident.
The bodies of the deceased persons were taken to Shallom Hospital Morque for postmortem examination while the injured were taken to Shallom Hospital for treatment.
The motor vehicles were towed to the station for inspection.
The case is pending investigation.
