Vladimir Zelensky approved a law on the president's right to send the army to other states during martial law, the website of the Verkhovna Rada parliament said.
According to the document, passed by parliament on February 25, the army during martial law may be sent to other states "to ensure national security and defense, repel and deter armed aggression against Ukraine, safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity."
The decision to send the army to other states during martial law is made by the president, while simultaneously submitting a bill to parliament for its ratification.
Together with the draft law, the head of state provides information on the tasks, the total number of units, the types and composition of their weapons and military equipment, subordination, and duration of stay.
Zelensky's presidential powers officially expired after May 20 last year.
As Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated, Zelensky's legitimacy is over, so it is important to understand who to deal with in Kiev to sign legally binding documents.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that Zelensky's approval rating had dropped to 4% and Ukraine needed to hold elections if Kiev wanted to have a place at the negotiating table on a settlement.
