- Before the funds raiser, Gachagua and church leaders will have a memorial service in honour of the victims.
- Labour Cabinet secretary Florence Bore said the funds raiser will be held in Londiani after the memorial service on Tuesday morning.
Deputy president Rigathi Gachagua will on Tuesday preside over a funds drive for Londiani accident survivors.
Before the funds raiser, Gachagua and church leaders will have a memorial service in honour of the victims.
Labour Cabinet secretary Florence Bore said the fund raiser will be held in Londiani after the memorial service on Tuesday morning.
Bore said the county was still mourning after the accident that claimed 52 lives and left scores of other in hospital in Kericho, Londiani and neighbouring Molo hospitals.
The CS was accompanied by Kericho Governor Eric Mutai, Senator Aron Cheruiyot, MPs Benjamin Langat and Joseph Cherorot.
Bore said the fund raiser will cater for morgue and other levies that may arise.
Before the press briefing, the CS, governor and the MPs had a two-hour closed door meeting at the governor's board room.
Mutai said most of the victims are hustlers who used to live from hand to mouth from the little they would get from sale of farm produce.
"As county government, we still have an obligation to help survivors continue with their daily work after recovery since majority of them are the sole bread winners of their families," Mutai said.
He ordered traders along the killer spot at Londiani junction to clear the kilometer stretch along the Kericho-Nakuru highway as one way to avert such accidents in the future.
The governor said the county government will buy land for market place where those trading by the roadside could be relocated.
"Similarly, the same will happen to traders who have been doing their businesses along busy highways in the county," he said.
As plans for land buying for the markets places is being worked out, Mutai asked county askaris to ensure traders defying orders to vacate the killer Londiani junction spot were forcibly cleared from the area.
