The Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) has started today (Monday) with a total of 1,303,913 Grade 6 students across Kenya sitting for the exam.

The day began with Education CS Julius Ogamba supervising the distribution of papers at the KNEC container in Westlands.

Being the third KPSEA under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), it will cover a range of subjects aimed at gauging students' understanding and application of essential skills.

The exams will end on Wednesday.

Ruto to preside over KFS Pass-out parade

President William Ruto will preside over the pass-out parade of the Kenya Forest Service Inspector Cadets and Forester Trainees Course at NYS Gilgil, Nakuru County.

The KFS will welcome 569 new guardians of the forest 467 Forester Trainees and 102 Inspector Cadets. 

"These dedicated men and women will strengthen the mission to protect and conserve Kenya's forests," the Service stated.

On Sunday, officer trainees and their Instructors planted over 2,000 tree seedlings within the NYS Paramilitary Academy.  

The tree planting exercise was part of build-up exercises in preparation for the passing out parade ceremony.

Prime CS office, Interior ministry to embark on phase 2 of validation of state projects in Nyanza, Western regions

Separately, the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary (OPCS) in conjunction with the Ministry of Interior and National Administration (MINA) will embark on phase two of verification and validation of selected High Impact National Government Projects and Programmes in Nyanza and Western Regions.

The exercise will take place from Monday through to Thursday.

The exercise, which is supported by the Public Finance Management Reforms Secretariat (PFMR), started last month with phase one conducted in Eastern and Coast Regions. Phase three and four will be in Rift Valley, Nairobi, Central and North Eastern Regions.

The purpose of this countrywide exercise is to verify and validate the status of High Impact-selected Projects and Programmes for the Financial Year 2023/2024, taking into consideration the information provided by the

Ministries Departments and State Agencies (MDAs). 

The verification and validation team will comprise OPCS, MINA, NGAO and MDAs.

IGAD, African Council of Religious Leaders to hold talks on peace and stability

The African Council of Religious Leaders will hold a meeting with IGAD Executive Secretary Workneh Gebeyehu, to discuss the vital role of religious leaders in promoting peace and stability within member states in the face of current regional peace and security challenges.

The event will be held at Windsor Hotel & Country Club from 11 am.

CS Wandayi to address the state of the oil industry for Q3

Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi to address the state of the oil industry for the third quarter of 2024.

The event will be held at Serena Hotel, Allamanda Room.

LSK Legal Awareness Week, 2024, starts

The Law Society of Kenya will hold its Legal Awareness Week 2024, under the theme: “Laws for the People, by the People: Empowering Citizen Participation.” 

The Legal Awareness Week will be launched on Monday at 9:00 am at the Milimani Law Courts Parking Yard.

The Chief Guest will be Kivutha Kibwana.

During Legal Awareness Week, members and stakeholders will participate in various activities aligned with the theme, which include; Legal aid clinics; prison visits, seminars and a Gala dinner.
