The cold season is here in the new month of November.
We have complained about dust and the hot sun over the past few months, now that the cold is creeping in, what duly follows is colds and flu.
Dawa means medicine in Kiswahili. The name originated from fact that the ingredients can boost immunity therefore fighting off common colds.
The main ingredients are ginger, lemon and honey.
Ginger and honey work together to relieve sore throat and cough symptoms as well as viral infections that could cause a cold.
Nonetheless, this drink should be taken occasionally and not on a daily basis.
This is because the lemon is acidic and excessive use could lead to increased acidity levels in the stomach.
It should be taken in regulation to avoid hyperacidity or ulcers that could develop as a result of overusing the drink.
