Amazon, a US Tech giant, launched Amazon clinic on Tuesday.
A virtual platform for common healthcare conditions like allergies, erectile dysfunction, acne and asthma refills.
The move expands the firms e-commerce presence in the U.S. healthcare space.
This comes after it launched a pilot programme back in 2019.
Chief medical officer and general manager of Amazon Clinic Dr Nworah Ayogu said they believe that improving both the occasional and ongoing engagement experience is necessary to making care dramatically better.
“We also believe that customers should have the agency to choose what works best for them,” Ayogu said in a blog post.
Other possible conditions that could be treated by the clinic will include birth control, cold sores, conjunctivitis, dandruff, eczema, eyelash growth, genital herpes and gastroesophageal reflux disease.
Also, hyperlipidemia refills, hypertension refills, hypothyroidism refills, men’s hair loss, migraines, motion sickness, rosacea, seasonal allergies, sinusitis, smoking cessation, urinary tract infections and yeast infections.
Patients seeking help will receive help by login into the Amazon application or the website at amazon.com.
The firm, which also runs Amazon Pharmacy, said the new service will operate in 32 states, and does not yet accept insurance.
Patients’ costs of consultation will vary, as set by the medical providers.
Tech companies are still figuring out how to best navigate the lucrative but messy, healthcare industry.
