Cakes are commonly used as daily snacks and they come in many flavors like chocolate, orange, blueberry and vanilla.
Today let us try a soft, fresh, and yummy chocolate cake.
Chocolate cake is a cake flavoured with melted cocoa powder or melted chocolate.
To make your chocolate cake you are required to have the following ingredients.
Ingredients
- One cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
- Two and a half cups of all-purpose flour
- Two cups sugar
- One and a half teaspoons of baking powder
- One teaspoon of baking soda
- One teaspoon salt
- Three large eggs, at room temperature
- A quarter cup of vegetable oil
- Half a cup of sour cream
- Two teaspoons of vanilla extract
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat the oven, spray the cake pans with cooking spray and line the bottoms with parchment paper.

Whisk the cocoa powder and one and a half cups boiling water in a medium bowl until smooth then set aside.

Whisk the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl until combined.

Add the eggs, vegetable oil, sour cream, and vanilla and beat with a mixer on medium speed until smooth, about one minute.
Step 5
Reduce the mixer speed to low, beat in the cocoa mixture in a steady stream until just combined, then finish mixing with a rubber spatula until the butter is thin.

Divide the batter between the prepared pans and tap the pans against the counter to help the batter settle.
Step 7
Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean.
Step 8
When ready transfer to a tray and let it cool for about 10 minutes.
Trim the tops of the cakes with a long serrated knife to make them level, if desired.

You can decorate with any cream of your desire.
