Sauti Sol band members Savara Mudigi and Bien Baraza have denied knowing former radio presenter Andrew Kibe.
This comes just a few days after Kibe narrated his humbling experience when he was denied a chance to meet Sauti Sol as they were performing in Washington DC.
Speaking during an Instagram live on Monday, Savara said he does not know Kibe nor what he does.
“I have never checked him out. Who is he? Does he have an online radio? What media house does he work for? Meaningful media or what kind of media does he do? No, I don’t know him,” Savara said.
The musician went ahead to clarify that he could not ignore someone he knew and was genuine about not knowing the former presenter.
Bien on the other hand when questioned about Kibe during a phone interview, said he had never had of such a person.
“I don’t know who Kibe is. I’m surprised people are talking about Kibe yet I don’t know him. I have never seen him or even heard of him. Is he an artist who sings or what does he do? ” Bien asked.
Kibe recently accused the boy band of turning down his offer to meet him in the United States.
He went ahead to air his disappointment in his YouTube channel saying he never expected the boy band to turn him down.
“I told the promoters that I wanted to meet Sauti Sol because I’m a big deal. I also knew Sauti Sol are people I totally enjoy their music but the promoter answered me saying they were not interested,"Kibe said.
He said that was a humbling experience for him since he knew he was famous and never expected to be turned down.
Kibe added that he was frustrated despite having attended their show.
"I had a humbling moment and came back to earth. Sometimes you might walk around thinking you are a big deal but you are not. What I’m doing here is nothing,” he said.
